Hi,

I've got an issue when i set the sample clock to 176,4 or 192 kHz, internal or external clock source.
I can see little modulations in the lynx cf screenshot.
Useless to say that the sound is very poor in this configuration.
Aurora works perfectly fine in sample rates up to 96 Khz.

Here is my config
Aurora 8 connected with the Lynx TL-TB optional card (build 58) to a mac 10.9.5.

Thanks again for your help.

Best,
Jeremy

Sorry, I forgot to mention that it concerns the Analog inputs.

Thanks

Hi. What size buffers are you using for the higher rates?

You mean in the Daw ? I tried to set it at the max but it didn t change anything.
I've got the problem even before starting any Audio application (except the Lynx Mixer).

Our meters in Lynx Mixer go down to -70dBfs. What you are seeing is normal and out of the audio band, so it is not what you are hearing; it has no affect on playback. There is some other issue, that is why I am wondering about what buffer size you are using.

Yes I thought as much, but the meters doesn't behave this way on lower rates like at 96 Khz.

That is true....We could have added a low pass/hi cut filter but we do not like adding anything extra in the signal path, especially since this is out of the audio band.

Hey Mike,

Not to mention this meter behaviour issue (wich is not my major problem), I'm still having an horrible crackled sound with these two clock rates (176.4 and 192 khz).
I'm not using 192 khz clock rate very often, i'm using rates up to 96 khz for now but i could be required to work with those kind of high rates some day and i'd like to be ok with this.

I've made some test.
I've notice that when i monitored the inputs directly through the ouputs with the lynx mixer, the sound is ok.
It crackled only when i used the audio core (like with a Daw). I've made 2 screenshots to help.

http://hpics.li/af8cc03                 OK
http://hpics.li/d7cdeae                Not OK

So it's maybe a problem with the TB expansion card right ?

Is this problem knowned ?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Jeremy,

Are you using Build 58 or 58A?

If you have 58A, download Build 58. Please first run the Uninstaller that is included in the folder, restart, install Build 58, restart, and let is us know the results.

Hi,

Sorry things are not happening smoothly.

Please unplug the AC from Aurora, remove the top panel and, on the LT-TB card, move Dip Switch 3 (PROM 1) to ON and Dip Switch 4 (PROM 2) to OFF. Plug Aurora in and power it up (for your safety place the top lid back onto Aurora but do not replace the screws yet), reprogram the card, then unplug Aurora, reverse the Dip switches again, plug in the AC, power up Aurora and let us know the results.

Hey,

Did all the change and get back to FW v6.0.
It's back in business.

But unfortunately, I still the the scratchy in 192Khz.
I'm starting thinking it could be a hardware problem...
