What is the MIDI driver used for?
All OS

The MIDI input driver in the LynxTWO is used to convert Timecode received from an external device to MIDI Time Code. On the L22 this is only possible with the addition of the Lynx LS-ADAT card using the ADAT SYNC IN port.

The MIDI output driver in the LynxTWO is used to convert Midi Time Code from an application for use by the LynxTWO LTC generator. Additionally, the MIDI output driver allows the Lynx Mixer to be manipulated via MIDI controllers. Each of the sixteen mixer outputs is assigned to a corresponding MIDI channel (i.e. MIDI channel 1 = Mixer Output 1, etc.). whereby MIDI Volume Controller 7 commands affects the master output volume for that channel. This allows automated control of the master output volumes from a MIDI sequencer. Volume control is the only feature of the MIDI output driver applicable to the L22.
