What do I need to use the Aurora Remote Control software?
The Aurora Remote Control software can operate via:
  • Lynx AES16
  • MIDI
  • Lynx LT-FW
  • Infrared

The controlling computer should have Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista or Mac OSX 10.4.6 or above, 256 MB RAM, and a video card/monitor capable of 800X600 resolution or greater.

With the AES16, the following is required:

  • AES16 firmware revision 22 or above
  • AES16 hardware rev B (Serial number 2404160101 and higher)
  • For Windows, AES16 driver Version 1 Build 57 and above, or Version 2 Build 13 and above. For OS X, driver Build 46 or above.

For MIDI operation, one needs a Windows or OS X computer with an installed MIDI interface. The Aurora will use one input AND one output for the Remote Control software to operate. We have tested MIDI interfaces by Edirol, MOTU, M Audio and Lynx.

For the LT-FW, one needs a Windows or OS X computer with a valid firewire connection to an LT-FW equipped Aurora. In a Windows system, the Aurora Remote Control software is automatically installed by the driver installer. In OS X, the Aurora Remote Control software must be installed separately.

For Infrared, a valid Infrared transceiver must be properly installed and configured on a Windows PC and placed within one meter of the Aurora IR Port. We have had good success with off-the-shelf USB to IRdA adapters (i.e. Atisys and CP Technologies) that can be easily located at an optimal position. The Windows CE version of the Remote Control Software can be used with an IrDA equipped Pocket PC.
