  • Why am I unable to use the MME driver to record 24-bit audio in WaveLAB?
  • Can I use the CBL-AES1603 connected to an Apogee DA-16(X) on one port of the AES16, and an 8-channel AD converter on the other port?
  • I’m using two Lynx cards in Nuendo, and they appear with different names (i.e. Lynx AES16 record 1 left, and the other as Record 1 left). Is this normal?
  • I’m using Sonar or Samplitude/Sequoia – what is the difference between using the ASIO, WDM or MME drivers?
  • Do the Lynx cards support DTS or Dolby Digital through the Digital I/O?
  • Can I use the AES16 with a computer that has PCI-X slots?
  • Can I use the AES16 with S/PDIF devices?
  • Can I use the AES16/AES16e with Windows Vista?
  • Can an AES16/AES16e be used with a MacPro?
  • Can I use the AES16/AES16e with Windows 7?
  • Can I use the AES16e with Thunderbolt?

Windows 2000/XP

Although both ASIO and WDM are designed for the low-latency performance required for a professional audio context, we find ASIO to provide the best performance overall, and this would be our recommended driver type when the choice exists.

MME, as a driver model, generally will not offer the type of latency performance required for a real-time music production environment.

However, in cases where MME is the only driver choice available (i.e. CD playback, applications such as Adobe Audition, etc.) the Lynx card will still provide excellent performance and stable operation.
