Can I use my Lynx card to play back 5.1 surround audio?
Windows 2000/XP
The Lynx Version 2 (WDM) driver supports multi-channel playback using the Play 1 device. To effectively monitor 5.1 audio 6 discreet outputs are necessary, so the LynxTWO-B, with 6 analog outputs, is the ideal choice.

To utilize this feature:
  • To play back Dolby or DTS encoded sources, Dolby or DTS decoding software must be utilized.
  • The most current Lynx firmware is required. Visit http://www.lynxstudio.com/support_downloads.asp for the latest firmware updater.
  • The Windows speaker configuration needs to be on “5.1 surround sound speakers”. To set this, go to Control Panel> Sounds and Audio Devices> Audio> Default Device/Advanced> Speaker Setup = 5.1 surround sound speakers
  • When playing back 5.1 surround encoded audio, the channel distribution is: Left/Right = Outputs 1&2; Center = 3; Sub= 4; Left/Right Rear = 5&6.
